Another Trip to Utah...

Pretty much every weekend for the last two months we have been out of town (by out of town I mean Utah). Although I love going to Utah and seeing everybody, it has gotten pretty old driving back and forth all the time! I feel like we have been living out of our luggage. We get home, I do the laundry and throw everything back in the bags! But this wast the last trip for a while, and a good one because we got to see our newest nephew/cousin, Carson. Ryan and Rebecca had their first little baby boy...adding to the number of grandson's... making it boys-5 and girls-0! He is way cute and we had a fun time hanging out with the Casper family all weekend.

Right when we got there we did some fireworks for Pioneer Day with Papa Larry & Grammy

Ty has started to sit up really well

Ace and Ryan took Easton swimming

Here is Ryan teaching Easton how to spit water at people... Thanks again Uncle Ry!

Even though my mom and Lauren were in Cali, we stopped by to say hi to the cousins on our way home
(Jessica, way to be on soothing the child)
So we are back in the hot weather of Vegas and maybe now I can get back into a regular routine, and unpack for, at least for a little while.

A Trip to "See George"

This past weekend we took a quick trip to St. George to see our friends, Jared, Kaytie, and their new little baby girl, Annie. When I told Easton we were going to St. George he couldn't stop talking about it...

"When are we going to see George? I want to show my sharks to George. I want to play with George."

Obviously he got a little confused about it, thinking St. George was a person. So when we got there and he saw Jared, of course he thought this was the 'George' he was waiting to see! The whole trip, Easton called Jared 'George'.
Here is George and Annie

Except for the fact that it was just as hot there as it is here in Vegas, it was fun to hang out with friends and relax. We went to a fun little water park to cool off, watch movies, went swimming, and talked about how crazy Ace and Jared (mostly Ace) were as adolescents.
Easton fell asleep on the way there...lets all notice the drool coming down the side of his cheek...lovely.

Ty loved playing with Annie's toys

Water Park Fun

Our gracious hosts

Ty got to sneak in and have a bath with Annie. (Totally a photo that will be pulled out when they are teenagers)
Swim time

All of us

We had a fun time, and it was good to see Kaytie & Jared (George) and to finally meet little Annie. Thanks for the invite guys!

The Best We Got...

In St. George I was trying to get 1 nice picture of the boys, 1 nice picture of all three kids, and 1 nice picture of our family...that was way too much to ask for. Here is the best of the bunch...

This last one was taken before the one above, and if you look at Easton's face you can see the outburst about to happen...
It's a good thing those kids are cute :)

The Dilemmas of Summertime in Vegas

It's hot. Really hot. They say that there is an "excessive heat warning" once it hits 112 degrees. Right now it is about 110 to 111 and pretty sure there is no difference between that and 112.

Anyway, because of the heat, it is hard for me to take the boys outside. I don't think Easton would care a bit about the heat, but I don't like being outside very long with Ty. Because of this, we have stayed inside a lot to keep cool. And Easton is a crazy ball of energy, being cooped up is NOT a good thing for him.

Needless to say, I have been going a bit crazy! The other problem is that our backyard is tiny and mostly rocks...not the best place for a 3 year old to play. I told Ace that we needed to get something for Easton to do. We bought a little pool for Easton to play in, and it is perfect!

Except for the fact that it takes up our entire porch, I figure it is so stinkin' hot what else are we going to use the porch for! It is a good size for Easton to play in and Ace and I can get in to cool down. The best part...Easton wears himself out so good, he is taking lovely afternoon naps!

So even though my backyard looks like a big blue mess, I don't care...I love this pool!

Cute little Ty

Even in the short time we have had the pool I see him getting better. He isn't nervous about swimming under the water, in fact he said "he loves swimming under the water"
I took a video towards the end of his swimming day, and you can tell he is completely out of breath, but he just won't stop!

Remembering the Subie

On Friday we said goodbye to the first car Ace and I ever had together... our little Subaru. To be honest, I was pretty glad to be rid of it. It has been having problems for a long time, and we were both sick of dealing with it. It was a good car though, we had it through our college years and with Easton.
I wanted to share the background about how we got this car because it was quite a big deal to Ace us...

When I first met Ace, he drove this...

This was his pride and joy! He loved this car. We were in Rexburg, Idaho where they don't believe in plowing the roads when it snows, and he loved being able to drive up and over the snow banks without a problem. Plus, he thought he was "hot stuff" driving all over campus!

But after he proposed to me, he told me he was thinking about selling the jeep and getting something cheaper in gas and a better "family car". I was really shocked that he had even thought about giving it up. I told him that it would probably be a good idea to get something a little cheaper, but said it was up to him since it was his car to begin with (secretly I really didn't care for it much). Over the next month or two, everyday was a different decision, one day he was set on selling it, and then the next he would say he was just going to keep it.

After much debate, Ace finally put it up for sell, and some lucky little teenager got it... Then we bought our little Subi which may be, aside from a mini van, the most popular Mormon family car!

The best part of the story was that when I told friends that he had sold his beloved jeep, no one could believe it. One in particular stands out in my mind. She knew Ace really well and when I told her, her jaw dropped open and she literally gasped and then said, "WHAT?! Wow! Well, there's the proof, Ace REALLY loves you! I would have bet my life that he would NEVER sell that car for anything! That's amazing!"

So, the decision to buy the Subie was a good one, and has probably saved us a ton of money, but every now and then Ace will talk about his Jeep and there will be a little sparkle in his eye as he remembers what life was like back then!

So thanks to Ace for sacrificing your favorite car for our family, and thanks to the Subie for being low to the ground making it easier for me to get in and out while pregnant.

Look at that Hair!

UPDATE: Right after I posted this, Ace came home and we decided to cut his hair :( even though his hair is crazy, it made me a little sad... he looks cute though and a little more tame! The before and after shots are at the bottom of the post...
I think we all know and agree that Ty's hair is crazy. It never goes down, and there is a lot of it. Whenever we are out in public we hear giggles as we walk past, and people saying "Did you see that baby's hair!" Many people think that I style his hair this way...I don't. Even if I get it wet and lay it down, as soon as it dries it pops back up, so I gave up a long time ago. We think it fits his personality nicely...

His hair kind of reminds me of the top of a pineapple...

Anyway, that's why it was such a miracle the other day. I gave him a bath, and then put him on the bed. The blanket must have been pushing his hair down because when I picked him up something was different...

Doesn't he look like a nice little, obedient little child?
He doesn't even look the same to me!

_______________The Haircut _______________
BEFORE

AFTER

That was the longest setting we had, and I think it is too short now! But, I suppose it will grow back... and maybe his receding hairline will fill in a bit as it grows!

See You in ONE Year Elder!

Elder Williams was set apart, again, as a missionary for The Church tonight! He leaves tomorrow to Provo for a bit while he finishes up some of his treatments, and once he is done he will be called somewhere else. But even though he is close, we won't be able to see him again :(

It came kind of as a shocker that he was leaving so quickly, and we are sad that we aren't up there to give a proper goodbye. We are glad we got to spend some time with him, and that he got to meet Ty and bond with Easton through incessant teasing! And we are so happy that he gets to get back to work!

Anyway Elder, Easton wanted to make you a video to tell you goodbye so I thought I would post it for you to see before you leave...

This first one, he got real upset that he couldn't see you...

There is also of video of Ty in the "Recent Videos" of the right column -->

Bye Elder Jesse Hart!! We are so happy you are getting better, and we are going to miss you a ton! See you in one year! We Love You!

Happy 50th Anniversary!

No, Ace and I have not quite made it to 50 yet, but my grandparents have! Over the 4th of July weekend, we celebrated Mimi & Boppop's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a lot of fun! It was great to see family that we haven't seen in a while and Easton LOVED all of the many cousins he had to play with.

So here are Mimi & Boppop on their wedding day 50 years ago...awwwwww

and here they are now having as much fun as ever!

Isn't Boppop so cute?

Here is Easton showing off his new found swimming skills...

The whole family watching the fireworks...fabulous!

Easton was given a glow stick while watching the fireworks, and everytime a firework went off Easton said, "Oh my goodness! Look what I did! " So the whole time he was 'pointing & flicking' at the fireworks and he still talks about how pretty his creations were.
