A Visit From Papa Cory

Papa Cory came to Vegas for a Work Conference, and came a little early to spend some time with us.
We went to dinner and then headed to the theaters to watch this movie:
Both Easton and Ty (and us adults) loved the movie.
Although, Easton hasn't quite mastered the art of whispering yet, so all the lucky people in the theater got a special narrative by Easton throughout the entire movie.  Even at the climax of the movie when all was silent and nobody was sure what was going to happen next, Easton was so thoughtful to explain at the top of his lungs, "HE'S DEAD!"

Papa Cory brought the boys some little presents...
No, not the i-phone (although Easton would've been happy to keep Papa Cory's phone)
Easton got those snazzy sunglasses
And Ty got a cute little bear, which he loves
We all had so much fun hanging out together.  Thanks Papa Cory for coming to visit us!

A Walk with the Dinosaurs

A few weeks back, we went to "Walking with Dinosaurs". It's a live show that has life-size robot dinosaurs walking around and doing dinosaur stuff. Easton is completely obsessed with all dinosaurs, so when I heard about this show I knew we had to go. It was a perfect day for Easton...stuffing his face with pounds of popcorn while watching dinosaurs roar and fight...what could be better?
That guy was out with the dinosaurs talking about them. You can kind of see how small he is compared to the dinos.
And of course, he had to stay out of the T-Rex's way. (which Easton thought was hysterical by the way)

It was a fun family night. I was a little nervous it would freak Ty out, but he loved it just as much as Easton. Easton still talks about the dinosaurs, but now he is convinced that a dinosaur could show up anywhere.  I tried to explain that the dinos are all gone, but he just got upset.  So I just let him continue believing they are alive and well...but now he has been telling me that they are living inside the walls of our house, and anytime there is a weird house noise he says, "here comes the Stegosaurus!  Watch Out!"

Is That Your Natural Color?

A few weeks ago, Ty was sick.  Like puking his guts out sick.  After a few days of dealing with it, I took him to the Doctor.  The Dr. went through the regular check up and questions and then we had this conversation...

Dr: "It looks like it is just a virus, and we have to let it take it's course....I do have one concern though...
Is that, uh, his natural coloring?"

Me: "What, you mean his unnatural, florescent white, glow? Yup, that's his color."

{lots of laughing happening}

Dr: "Okay, because normally we'd consider that pale, and be worried about dehydration, but if that's his normal color we won't worry about it."

So in conclusion, Ty is white.  Unnaturally white.
But oh so cute!

A Day at the Fair

Saturday we went to the Fair...
We ate some yummy, greasy, Fair Food.

We rode some rides,,,

Ty's first shoulder ride...he liked it.

We saw some animals...

(yup, that's a camel back there)

Even a monkey graced us with its presence.

It was a windy day, but still, a fun, family day at the fair.
It was a bit sunny, though.

Easter 2009

Easter was just our family this year. Small and fun. We watched an awesome Conference and relaxed. Colored some eggs, the Easter Bunny sent us on a little hunt, and brought a whole lot of chocolate....yum.

Ty's basket ended up looking a little like an advertisement for Gerber Products....
but I think Ty was okay with that.
