Just Camping and Family

This weekend was super fun/tiring/crazy.  We headed up to Camp Stimson for some ward camp out bonding time.  Super yummy food and great company.  Only problem is I am pretty sure our ward has been cursed with some kind of evil wind curse.  Because every year on our Ward Camp Out as soon as everyone gets into the tents and starts to fall asleep for the night it like a stinkin' tornado plants itself down on top of the camp site and attacks the entire night.  It literally sounds like a train is coming down the canyon and is going to smash you to bits....over and over. All. Night. Long.  The kids slept like rocks.  But no body else got any sleep.  So other than the night time the camp out was a huge success!  Thanks to Melissa & Patrick who didn't get relax at all while they planned, served, and made everyone else happy!  You guys were awesome!  Easton and Ty had a blast playing with all the kids, and successfully managed to cover every nook and cranny of themselves in filth (I would expect nothing less).

Ty loved this little bridge.  He would walk across, look at the stream, and walk to the other side over and over again.

Finding some ladybugs...

Sister Smith was the genius who brought glow sticks for all the kidlets.  We could watch them glowing off in the distance...
Easton's favorite part was playing in the stream until he was so wet and cold he couldn't take it anymore.

Ty's favorite part had to be this stump.  As we were cleaning up getting ready to leave he just sat on the stump, kicking his feet, watching us the whole time.

About 5.2 seconds after getting into the car and heading home, the boys were out.  So tired.

Right as we got home, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Rebecca, and little Carson showed up.  They had been in St.George for the weekend and came down to spend the day with us.  We let the kids play, went to dinner, put the kids to bed, and then played a little Super Mario Bro Wii.  I have to say, I have never seen a more spectacular Mario Bro player than Ryan...I mean, truly a sight to see. :)
I must have been completely delusional and sleep deprived from the night before and the "Wind Curse" previously mentioned, because I did not take a single picture while Ryan & Rebecca were here...lame.  But they did come and we had a real great time.

So a fun weekend.  The best part might have been going to bed in my own bed Saturday night (with no wind)...I am pretty sure I haven't slept that good since sleeping with the pain medication they gave after giving birth.

When You're Here You're Family...

The boys and I took a trip to Utah to get out of this nasty heat, and stayed for about a week and a half. Poor Ace had to stay behind because of work. Lame. I felt {just a little} guilty enjoying the nice weather of Utah without him.

I found some cheap tickets to fly there so I flew with my two kids BY MYSELF. I had major anxiety about this. I have flown with Easton and Ty separately, but never together, and I feared the worst. But everything went so good, and they were both so excited about the whole thing, it was actually pretty enjoyable.

Two funny stories about the plane ride: Easton has been watching Toy Story 2 a lot lately and he was completely convinced that Woody and Buzz were at the airport just like in the movie...
He said, "Mommy. Buzz needs my help! They are trying to get Jessie! I gotta go help them!" He continued to quote the movie the entire time.
Then when the plane was getting ready to take off, I was explaining to Easton what was going to happen "The plane is going to start going really super fast and then start going up into the sky." He wasn't really listening to me and then as we started to take off, he gripped the armrests and starting yelling, "What is Happening?! What is Happening?!" I told him to look out the window...he then relaxed a little and yelled, "We are Flying! Mommy! We are Flying! This is sooo amazing!" I was laughing so hard I couldn't even tell him to talk softer. He continued to give a play-by-play with the things he could see out the window the whole flight. He said things like, "We are like big giants and we are going to smash those little tiny trees."
Uncle Jesse had to get his tonsils out, and he was pretty miserable.  So we tried to keep him company.  Easton was his movie watching buddy all week long...Sometimes there was a little too much teasing, but it always ended on a happy note...
Then we headed up to the Casper's for Baby Carson's First Birthday... Can't believe he is already 1!
There was a little teasing by Uncle Brad...
But Ty liked it, so all was well.

We tried to get pictures of the cousins...this is what we got:
At least they are all cute even when they don't smile.

We went to the Farm with Grammy, Aunt Rebecca, and Carson.  Everybody liked the ducks.
Rebecca got really into feeding those ducks :)

Some more Uncle Brad teasing that didn't go as well as the water... apparently Ty is cool with standing in the grass, but things get crazy if you put grass on top of his feet.

Bubbles were a nightly routine.

We went to Thanksgiving Point with Grandma Leelee.  The boys got to ride the pony's, and there was no convincing Ty that it was a pony...He kept calling it "Doggy".  But he did love to see all the other "Mammimals".

This one is random, but just enjoyable to me.  I found Easton sleeping like this one night....

And the reason we really made the trip was for the reunions.  We had a big giant Smith reunion, and then the next night we had a smaller reunion/tribute to my Fabulous Grandpa John.  It was so fun to see everybody, Easton loved having so many big cousins to play with, and it was yet again confirmed that my family's nuttiness goes back many, many, many generations.  All I can do is continue to pass it on...

We are so glad to be back home with Ace, but not so much back in the heat.  Bleh.  But yay for family, I am glad we got to spend some time with everyone!

p.s The post title is dedicated to my mother...who while at our {very large} family gathering at The Olive Garden made that very statement to the waitress...yep.

Guess Where We Were This Weekend...

Umm Yeah, UTAH, because that's where we go EVERY weekend...and just so I can keep the excitment going, (and to hype everyone up for my next post) I will be in UTAH again NEXT weekend as well. So prepare yourself for a good fill of UTAH every time you come to my blog :) I am pretty certain my life would be so much easier if I could just live in UTAH!

If only the drive from Vegas to Utah could be omitted from my mind... we actually love being in Utah with all of our friends and family, and it always seems to go by way too fast!

Our main reason for going was for the baby blessing of this little guy...
Carson

But we stopped by and visited with my family too...

At the blessing we saw our friends Bryan and Brianne and Easton had so much fun playing with their kids, Mayley and Hunter. Even though Easton's hand is in his mouth in this next picture it was quite miraculous in the fact that they were running around all over the place and I just said, " Hey kids, turn around and smile for me!" They proceeded to line up next to each other and smile...What?!
Hunter, Easton, Mayley

Then Easton and Hunter did it for me again...they were having so much fun together they couldn't keep the happiness in!

Ty on the other hand, couldn't keep his feet out of his mouth for a picture with his new little cousin...look at the size difference in just 6 months...

Another Trip to Utah...

Pretty much every weekend for the last two months we have been out of town (by out of town I mean Utah). Although I love going to Utah and seeing everybody, it has gotten pretty old driving back and forth all the time! I feel like we have been living out of our luggage. We get home, I do the laundry and throw everything back in the bags! But this wast the last trip for a while, and a good one because we got to see our newest nephew/cousin, Carson. Ryan and Rebecca had their first little baby boy...adding to the number of grandson's... making it boys-5 and girls-0! He is way cute and we had a fun time hanging out with the Casper family all weekend.
Easton & Baby Carson

Right when we got there we did some fireworks for Pioneer Day with Papa Larry & Grammy

Ty has started to sit up really well

Ace and Ryan took Easton swimming

Here is Ryan teaching Easton how to spit water at people... Thanks again Uncle Ry!

Even though my mom and Lauren were in Cali, we stopped by to say hi to the cousins on our way home
(Jessica, way to be on soothing the child)
So we are back in the hot weather of Vegas and maybe now I can get back into a regular routine, and unpack for, at least for a little while.
