Ty is 2

Yesterday was Ty's birthday.  I can't believe he is 2.  It's just ridiculous how fast it goes by.  We celebrated with all the family on Saturday.  Ty has been super into anything Sesame Street, so I thought I would try to make an Elmo cake and Cookie Monster Cupcakes:
Ty seemed to like them...

The Grandmas' and Ty
Ty raked in the gifts

Uncle Jesse sang us a few songs (while Easton flew cars around)
Proof I was there.

And then we had cake.
If you remember from last year the candle blowing was traumatic.  And, if this is at all possible to remember (which with Ty, it really is), I'm pretty sure that Ty may have a bit of PTSD from that first experience with fire.  Here's what happened this time:

Even though he didn't like the candle blowing, he seemed to be okay with the cupcake(s)

Yesterday, we gave him another cupcake and tried the candles again.  Things went better...

Happy Happy Birthday Ty!

Just Cute...

This past week has been a lame attempt in getting back into a routine.  My excuse, it's too hot to do anything, but sit and play with the kids... so that's really all we did.  Except I did venture out (in the middle of the stinkin' day, even) and went grocery shopping so that we didn't starve to death (in my opinion, there is nothing more horrible than grocery shopping in the Vegas Summertime. Bleh.).  I consider that very productive.

So, nothing real great happened, but my kids were cute all week long...
Easton & Ty have decided that the closet is a real great place to play... They pick a toy, climb up on the totes, close the doors and have the time of their lives.  I walked into the playroom, and just listened to their cute little conversation outside of the closet doors forever before I opened the doors and "caught" them.

This is my ring made out of a pipe cleaner.  Easton had been playing with some pipe cleaners by himself for a little bit when he came up to me and said, "Mommy, I made this ring for you, because I love you so much.  Will you wear it forever?"
It just happens to be my new favorite ring...

The boys {sometimes} play so nicely together.

Cute Ty

We went to Chili's and they had one of those balloon ladies there... Ty got some kind of tiger hat, and Easton specifically said he needed a sword and a helmet. Ha. That picture pretty much describes entirely what Easton is into right now...
Bad Guys, Weapons, Helmet Safety, Dragons, etc...
Speaking of Dragons, for the past 2 months or so he has been introducing himself as Easton Dragon Casper or Easton Dragon for short.  If you ask him his name the conversation would go something like this:
"Hello.  My name is Easton Dragon Casper.  Easton Dragon.  And my new house has stairs. Does your house have stairs?"
Even when I am talking about him on the phone to someone he gets mad at me until I correct myself and say, "Easton Dragon".

And lastly, a little video...
Easton is very picky about when and where he wants to sing.  He loves to sing, but gets shy about singing in front of people... But for some reason Easton has found that he enjoys to sing while he is **ahem** using 'The Loo'...(The video isn't the best quality because I had to be a bit sneaky)

All We Needed Was A Little Jello...

While we were in Utah, Ty made his walking debut. Ty has always been a little slower in the gross motor areas, but for a while now he has had a better way of getting around...

Ty has also been given the term "failure to thrive".  Meaning that he hasn't been gaining any weight, so we have been stuffing his face with all things fattening.  His Dr. is concerned that he isn't gaining weight and that he isn't walking.  So we were sent to the Early Intervention people to get him tested.  We went for his first test today
here's the good news:
-He has gained 1 pound since the visit to the Dr.
-They said that overall in all his areas, he is developing just fine
-Early Intervention is FREE
Bad news:
-His muscles aren't strong enough
-And he is too flexible
Which is why it has taken him longer in the gross motor area.  So now he gets to do some physical therapy to help him out.  I am happy that they think he is doing well and that we can get this physical therapy for him.  I will keep updating when I know more...

But Sunday, he made his first real, big move. My mom whipped out some Jello Jigglers and he couldn't hold back any longer, and I amazingly got it on video. This video is currently my favorite video ever because of all the things going on, so here are a few things to notice...
1. Obviously, Ty taking his first steps
2. The amount of people cheering Ty on (realizing that this is a very normal moment in my family)
3. Easton sneaking Jello the whole time

1st Birthday Preview...

Ty is 1 today, and I can't believe it! This year went by so fast...
Well, we are having multiple mini celebrations this week, so I will post more later this week. Tonight, Ty got his first taste of Chocolate Cake. Grandma Leelee was so thoughtful and decided to MAIL us a "Darn Good Chocolate Cake"! Yes, she mailed a cake. And surprisingly enough, it can be done.

These videos are mainly for the family. We tried to get everybody on the phone so we could all sing happy birthday, which is complicated enough. So of course things didn't go quite as planned...so sad...

(Probably the saddest part is that everyone on the phones just keep singing)

But don't worry, he is okay and even if you think we are the worst parents in the world we tried again and he was happy... everything gets better after my mom stops yelling for Jesse...

And Easton did receive some cake too...

Thanksgiving 2009

This Thanksgiving was a lot of fun and slightly miraculous. I say miraculous because we had everyone at our house, and anyone that has set foot in my home knows it is not the biggest...1200 square feet to be exact, and here is the list of people that were in my house at the same time:
1. Ace
2. Me
3. Easton
4. Ty
5. Grandma Leelee (my mom)
6. Papa Cory (my dad)
7. Jesse (my brother)
8. Lauren (my sister
9. Grammy Raylene (Ace's mom)
10. Papa Larry (Ace's dad)
11. Brad (Ace's brother)
I have a new found respect for people living in a one room home with more family members than this...don't get me wrong, we had a lot of fun with everyone that came and we got to spend more time with everyone that would have normally been divided up between families, but holy cow that was a lot of people!

I didn't get a chance to take a whole lot of pictures mostly because I was fairly delusional from the crazy amount of shopping we did (on Black Friday we went from midnight to 8:30 in the morning). But I did get a picture of Raylene's jam packed car on their way home proof of the shopping...

Larry Raylene and Brad saying goodbye to the boys...

Lauren and Ty

Easton and Grandma Leelee

And this one of Jesse and Ty, I am pretty sure is my all time favorite picture ever. Right as I took this Ty was, uh, filling up his diaper and, obviously, Uncle Jesse became concerned, but just take a look at Ty's happy face--he is truly enjoying himself!

Easton gave everyone a concert of all the songs he knows...here is just a short video of one of the songs he sang...

It was a super fun week with everyone and I am so glad everybody came...I just hope next time we do this my home is just slightly bigger so we don't have anyone sleeping in the garage (Brad) !

The ABC's

Easton isn't really a child that likes to sing in front of people...sometimes I catch him singing when he is by himself, but in front of people he gets a little shy. When I heard him singing to Ty I had to get it on video...

p.s Notice at the end of the video when he finally sees me, he gets a little flustered :)

See You in ONE Year Elder!

Elder Williams was set apart, again, as a missionary for The Church tonight! He leaves tomorrow to Provo for a bit while he finishes up some of his treatments, and once he is done he will be called somewhere else. But even though he is close, we won't be able to see him again :(

It came kind of as a shocker that he was leaving so quickly, and we are sad that we aren't up there to give a proper goodbye. We are glad we got to spend some time with him, and that he got to meet Ty and bond with Easton through incessant teasing! And we are so happy that he gets to get back to work!

Anyway Elder, Easton wanted to make you a video to tell you goodbye so I thought I would post it for you to see before you leave...

This first one, he got real upset that he couldn't see you...

There is also of video of Ty in the "Recent Videos" of the right column -->

Bye Elder Jesse Hart!! We are so happy you are getting better, and we are going to miss you a ton! See you in one year! We Love You!

At the Casper's

We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with the Casper's while we were there, because I was without a car, and Jesse's Guardian, but the time that we did spend with them was a lot of fun...Grammy & Ty
This little nerf gun produced a whole lot of fun for, not just Easton, but all the boys!

Corbin &Easton having fun with Papa Larry

Head's Up...and Down

This video was a little while ago, Ty does a bit better now, but I find it so enjoyable...

p.s unless you want to hear Easton fake laughing hysterically throughout the video you may want to turn the volume all the way down!
