June!

June was the start of Easton’s soccer.  Oh how he loves soccer.  In fact there’s not much else he talks about.  He loves it.  I keep asking him if he wants to try another sport, and he says, “All I want to do is play soccer forever.”  Okay then, soccer it is.photo(1)photo
At Easton’s games, when I am taking pictures, I can’t really see the pictures I am taking because of the sunlight…but once I looked through them at home, I found that Easton does a whole lot of face-making…

And my personal favorite…022And all of the family enjoys watching from the sidelines…014015088017045Easton had a great season, and still says he only wants to play soccer.

The boys also started swimming lessons... there's nothing like little kids in goggles.114120250They both had a blast and did really well.  Easton can swim the entire length of the pool.  Easton’s favorite thing was learning to flip underwater and jumping on the diving board.  Ty, even though he slightly resembles a jellyfish, can swim about half the length of the pool.  His favorite thing was “ducking in the deep” (diving for diving sticks).

We had some of our cousins over for a big sleepover.

And everyday, we were out in the yard weeding, grading, raking…EVERYDAY.  And then at the end of the month, for my birthday, in the timespan of 2 hours (thanks to INCREDIBLE family and neighbors) the yard went from046this050to this052to this054TO THIS!!!!
Amazing! BEST DAY EVER!! Hooray! WooHoo! Hallelujah!
(I am pretty happy)
Side note: That area of dirt will someday be a deck.  And I am looking forward to getting some trees...But for now I will stay grateful for the grass…
A pretty great end to the month if I do say so myself.

A Park City Weekend

Ace’s birthday and our 8th wedding anniversary was this last week.  And since it was the last week before Easton started school, Ace decided to take the whole week off from work.  It was a real treat having him home, and not feeling like we had to be anywhere for anything.

016We did a lot of relaxing in our pj’s

Then, for Ace’s birthday, the boys and I made Ace a shirt designed to get the kids to scratch his back with cars…it worked marvelously.  We went to dinner, and had cake.  026028030What more could you ask for?

Oh, maybe a weekend in an awesome hotel…for free?  Sure.

My dad got us a place at the Escala Lodge in Park City.  The best.  The owner, Claudia, treats us like celebrities every time we go.  We got passes to on the gondola ride, the boys were in heaven!058049This is when we started going.  They were screaming like we were on a roller coaster050055056057Ellie just chilled in the stroller the whole ride.

We did some swimming…031It was Ellie’s first time in the pool.  She loved every bit of it….034037039Especially the splashing part.036043046

Then, Awesome Aunt Mandy and Uncle James offered to take the boys for the rest of the weekend for our anniversary.  So, we invited them up to swim, and then they took the boys home…leaving us with only one child.  I mean, piece. of. cake.068Corbin and Easton.  Best Cousins.069071

It was a fabulous weekend! Thanks dad for getting us the place, and thanks to Mandy and James for taking our crazy boys (they even took all 5 kids to church!)  That deserves a huge round of applause!

Soccer & The Beginning of Summertime

I signed Easton up for soccer this year.  We aren’t much of a soccer family.  We know nothing about it, really.  But, Easton wanted to try it, so we thought we’d give it a go.  The first practice and game was pretty sad.  It was obvious that the other kids on the team had played soccer the year before, and about all Easton knew was to kick the ball.  I was worried that Easton was going to get discouraged, but he did the opposite.  He started practicing everyday in the backyard, and he loved every minute of every soccer game and practice.  005011This was the first game.  Notice Easton is the only one without shin guards…170Ahh…better.024This was right after he scored his first goal.  He was so thrilled that day.  Right before this game started he came up to me and said,  “I’m going to score a goal today….do you feel it, Mommy?”  Of course I said I feel it.  So glad he got one.215Next game.  He got two goals….and of course, I wasn’t able to get either one on camera.  But he is completely thrilled about it.photophoto (2)Yep. That’s my child picking at his finger nails in the picture.

And now that it’s summertime, we’ve done a few fun things. Uncle
Brad got a condo up at Snowbird, so we all went up to swim and hang out.  091093094096098105107109

A little trip Trafalga with Ryan, Rebecca, Carson, and Tate.092093100101

And our BBQ Birds.  One day, Ace opened the BBQ to find a ridiculously huge nest and 6 robin eggs.  428431117And then they hatched.

So naturally, we made bird feeders with our cousins.198199201202206210212216218
I’m sure those birds were just ecstatic.

And on the days there is nothing else to do (most of the days), we whip out the sprinkler…132134135136139And then, dry off by riding scooters…144Happy summer days!
