A Park City Weekend
Ace’s birthday and our 8th wedding anniversary was this last week. And since it was the last week before Easton started school, Ace decided to take the whole week off from work. It was a real treat having him home, and not feeling like we had to be anywhere for anything.
We did a lot of relaxing in our pj’s
Then, for Ace’s birthday, the boys and I made Ace a shirt designed to get the kids to scratch his back with cars…it worked marvelously. We went to dinner, and had cake. What more could you ask for?
Oh, maybe a weekend in an awesome hotel…for free? Sure.
My dad got us a place at the Escala Lodge in Park City. The best. The owner, Claudia, treats us like celebrities every time we go. We got passes to on the gondola ride, the boys were in heaven! This is when we started going. They were screaming like we were on a roller coaster
Ellie just chilled in the stroller the whole ride.
We did some swimming…It was Ellie’s first time in the pool. She loved every bit of it….
Especially the splashing part.
Then, Awesome Aunt Mandy and Uncle James offered to take the boys for the rest of the weekend for our anniversary. So, we invited them up to swim, and then they took the boys home…leaving us with only one child. I mean, piece. of. cake.Corbin and Easton. Best Cousins.
It was a fabulous weekend! Thanks dad for getting us the place, and thanks to Mandy and James for taking our crazy boys (they even took all 5 kids to church!) That deserves a huge round of applause!

Soccer & The Beginning of Summertime
I signed Easton up for soccer this year. We aren’t much of a soccer family. We know nothing about it, really. But, Easton wanted to try it, so we thought we’d give it a go. The first practice and game was pretty sad. It was obvious that the other kids on the team had played soccer the year before, and about all Easton knew was to kick the ball. I was worried that Easton was going to get discouraged, but he did the opposite. He started practicing everyday in the backyard, and he loved every minute of every soccer game and practice. This was the first game. Notice Easton is the only one without shin guards…
Ahh…better.
This was right after he scored his first goal. He was so thrilled that day. Right before this game started he came up to me and said, “I’m going to score a goal today….do you feel it, Mommy?” Of course I said I feel it. So glad he got one.
Next game. He got two goals….and of course, I wasn’t able to get either one on camera. But he is completely thrilled about it.
Yep. That’s my child picking at his finger nails in the picture.
And now that it’s summertime, we’ve done a few fun things. Uncle
Brad got a condo up at Snowbird, so we all went up to swim and hang out.
A little trip Trafalga with Ryan, Rebecca, Carson, and Tate.
And our BBQ Birds. One day, Ace opened the BBQ to find a ridiculously huge nest and 6 robin eggs. And then they hatched.
So naturally, we made bird feeders with our cousins.
I’m sure those birds were just ecstatic.
And on the days there is nothing else to do (most of the days), we whip out the sprinkler…And then, dry off by riding scooters…
Happy summer days!
